Ruby Mazur

Ruby Mazur is a young vibrant 70 years old who has lived on Maui for over eleven  years..

Originally from New York City,  Ruby has a charisma and passion for art and life that is infectious....and unforgettable!! Ruby did the original "Mouth & Tongue" for The Rolling Stones on their "Tumbling Dice" record sleeve...which was the  prototype for the most recognizable logo in the music industry. Ruby did the artwork for over 3000 album covers in the 60's, 70's and 80's. You name the artist, Ruby did the artwork... Billy Joel, Elton John, Steely Dan, Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison, B.B. King, Steppenwolf, and the soundtrack artwork for the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Rocky Horror Picture Show, Love Story, and Elton John's "Friends" to name  just a few.

At the age of 21, he was the Art Director for Paramount Records and two years later, opened his own studios in NYC, LA and London.
Ruby's close friends included David Bowie and Andy Warhol and he is still good friends with Elton John and Jimmy Buffett. He and his brother discovered Billy Joel and were Billy's first managers. Ruby gave Billy a place to stay when he was just getting started.

When Ruby ventured into abstract art in NYC in the 1980's,  hundreds of art patrons waited outside in the freezing cold to see Ruby's creations.  Ruby's  cigar art  collection in the late 90's in NYC and Las Vegas in the early 2000's drew a "who's who" from the world of sports, music and entertainment to his Shows. For the last ten years, Ruby has been painting celebrities that he has known and admired. Ruby has also been painting commissions of rock stars, movie stars and even family portraits that are "rocking" the art world again.

Ruby's Collectors include...
David Copperfield, Jason Priestly, Elton John, Jimmy Buffett, Billy Joel, Tico Torres from Bon Jovi, Charlie Daniels, Keith Hernandez (NY Mets retired superstar) and the list goes on and on... Ruby is definitely "The King of Pop Art."
